Downgrade iOS5 beta 1 to iOS4.3.3

Veröffentlicht am Juni 14, 2011

After lots of frustration with the latest beta version of iOS 5.0 I decided to downgrade my iPad to iOS 4.3.3.

However, I encountered some problems, but finally found a solution, that I want to share with you guys.

So here is what I did:

BTW: You can keep iTunes 10.5 beta to do the following steps

  1. Download RecBoot 2.2
  2. Latest Firmware iOS 4.3.3
  3. Double-check your hosts file and remove any entry related to gs.apple.com
    - Open Terminal
    - Type “sudo vi /etc/hosts” and enter your Password.
Note: If you don’t have any password set, set a new one under System Preferences
    - Locate the row saying “74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com” and change it to “# 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com”
    - Save with “:wq!”
  4. Start RecBoot and put your iPad in Recovery Mode
  5. If iTunes does not start automatically, open it now
  6. Hit the ALT-Key (on Mac) and click on Recovery
  7. Select your IPSW file you have downloaded in step 2
  8. Wait until recovery is finished

I hope this helps!
